Chinese Medicine & Grief
We are nearing the end of the Autumn season in Chinese medicine.
Where we honour the emotion of Grief and the Lung and Large an intestine organs.
The Lungs pull energy (Qi) down into our bodies from the air and heavens and the Large Intestine releases what we no longer need to hold onto from our food and life experiences.
Grief and sadness are natural expressions within our human experience. Painful things happen and this big energy can get trapped in the tissues and organs of the body if not fully felt, bypassed and/or repressed.
Often, we do this because of our social conditioning or because we are in survival mode and it doesn’t feel safe to let go and trust the process of unwinding.
The release of trapped emotion in a supportive environment can help us to experience free flow of Qi in our body-heart-mind and therefore greater health.
