Beginnings and Becoming: A Glimpse into My Practice

Since childhood, I’ve felt a deep calling to alleviate human suffering. A pivotal moment for me was seeing the cover of a National Geographic magazine featuring a starving child — an image that has stayed with me ever since. I was raised in an environment where alternative medicine was part of everyday life, and I saw firsthand its transformative effects.

In college, I took a course that introduced me to Chinese medicine, and as soon as I heard the presenter speak, I felt what I can only describe as “full-body truth shivers.” I knew I had found my path.

Today, I’m a Doctor of Chinese Medicine with a clinical focus on women’s health. I help women reconnect with their bodies, reclaim their energy, and navigate all stages of life — from puberty through to menopause — using acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and yoga. My practice empowers women to advocate for their well-being and contributes to a broader movement toward gender equity in healthcare. As Michelle Obama said, “Communities, and countries, and ultimately the world, are only as strong as the health of their women.” My work reflects this belief every day.

My practice is deeply personal, and one of its key innovations lies in how I integrate a unique multi-modal approach into each treatment session. In addition to acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, I incorporate CranioSacral therapy, acupressure, massage, Reiki, and yoga, tailoring each session to the specific needs of the patient. This holistic integration sets my practice apart.

I also offer an option that’s uncommon among practitioners — remaining in the room with patients while the acupuncture needles are in place. This provides a sense of safety, deepens the therapeutic relationship, and supports nervous system regulation. Patients consistently express feeling more seen, heard, and held than they have in other healthcare settings. This trauma-informed, presence-centered model offers people the quality of care and depth of connection they deserve.

Inclusivity is embedded into how I practice. I offer a trauma-informed approach and create a safe, welcoming environment. I am committed to offering sliding scale options, payment plans, and a trade program to ensure that no one is turned away due to financial limitations.

In addition, I donate 1% of my profits to the Tribal Park Allies initiative, supporting Indigenous stewardship of local lands and waters. By focusing on women’s health, I also work to address the systemic inequities in healthcare access and treatment outcomes for women.

Through this combination of environmentally conscious practices, inclusive care, and financial accessibility, my practice actively contributes to a healthier, more equitable, and more sustainable community.
